hey everybody, i just got here..

i was wondering if anyone out there has taken any interest in numerology or fooled around with it at all. i am an intp and my numerological number is 9, which is sort of like a detached old-soul type whose life purpose has to do with letting go of material things, since i've supposedly done all these little things before in previous lifetimes... that explains to me why i don't ever give a damn about the details. interesting stuff, really - search for "numerological calculator" on google if you're interested. anyways, i think that this life number just fits so well with the intp type and i was wondering if anyone else has calculated theirs or not..........

I have a big-ass book of numerology. I got it from the library about two years ago, never brought it back. It has two pages for every day. It's really thick, at least 15x13 and 4 inches wide. It's a cool book to look at, but I don't buy into it.

That may as well be astrology for all the science behind it dry.gif

... but then that's close-minded of me. In any case, does it have use to you developmentally or do you think it's just fun to toy with?

I've investigated it and decided it has no weight. I'm not about to waste my time looking for comforting coincidences, either!

PS: Division! Please return that library book so someone else can see it. If you need, ask someone you know to return it, so they can say they found it or something - but you don't steal books from libraries. The system only works if there is trust between the public and the library system.

LOL, it wasn't a government library. It was a community library. A neighborhood I have a house in has a nice big community center paid for in monthly neighborhood fees. It has a gym, pool, locker-rooms and a library. A little key-card to get in. I've donated them about 200 books, so I don't think they will get bent out of shape over 1. Anyway, it's not kept track of, you just walk in and add or take books at your leisure. Ahh, the pleasures of money.....

*edit* Then again.... laugh.gif

Who knew I wanted to be more like Jack Kerouac? My real-life name and birthdate are a lot more boring, but that information I'll not divest myself of until I think I know someone better. intp/alttongue.gif wink.gif biggrin.gif

I did this numerology thing online once...the description had a lot of qualities of an INFP 9w1 or 2w1 from what I rememer - doing good for the community or something like that. It didn't seem to fit well.

hmm.

well it is interesting. i don't exactly "buy into" it but i'd be lying if i said that certain numerological coincidences weren't way too strange to just overlook. it basically is founded on the belief that every number has an energy to it, and builds from there. depending on the particular cosmological model you happen to subscribe to, it can - and has - been useful, to me anyway.

but then again if you're not open to it then i understand that, since i'm a pretty skeptical person by nature. but things have jumped out at me that have made me a lot more receptive to it. check it out sometime if you like and see what your birth number is.

anyway.

I'm a natural skeptic, I tend not to believe in unsubstansiated nonsense.
