Does anyone here have great shame about mis-pronouncing words? I could probably list every word I've mispronounced for the last year or so. It isn't because it's only a few, it's that it upsets me so. dry.gif

Of course. It is even worse than misspelling, I think. Even if I put the stressing on the wrong syllabe (which is easier to happen in greek than it is in english - and I do NOT!!) it frustrates me. It makes me feel like a freaking idiot. It bothers me when others do it, as well; but I don't rub it in their faces. Unless of course they are *that* kind of people that will rub everything in others' face - you can only do this if you are impeccable, if you are not you will get it back. (Rambling blah...)

No, but I can recount every arithmetic mistake I have made in the past year.

I once during a round of Trivial Pursuit mispronounced the word "organism" as "orgasm". That was hilarious.

But it still bothered me a lot. I can remember situations where I mispronounced words years later.

I was good at math, but it was the most boring subject for me... dry.gif

I think the main thing I have against english or similar subjects is that it plays by its own rules, not necessarily by reason. So a mistake in it doesn't mean much.

I mis-pronounced moot and said mute during a rapid fire response to someone.....I'll never forget it.

I wonder if division is laughing for the reason I think he is laughing. Somehow I knew it before I checked again, it was too ironic not to happen.

I always, always mispronounce "bass" and "base", such as the one as a setting on a CD player, and the base in baseball. I always call the music "bass", the fish "bass". Is this something particular to INTPs?

I know the words, I know what they mean, I can spell them, read them and completely understand them, but saying them is tough. Common word that I stumble on is conscience and all its variables and other words similar to it.

And it really really bothers me to mispronounce a word, and yup, I will remember it for a long time as a source of shame lol
