Pretty fun Enneagram test at Emode. I don't think it's too accurate, but the questions are funny. biggrin.gif

http://web.tickle.com/tests/number/

The second question is hard, though. I really can't decide which number is more mystical, zero or infinity!

Ok... the test told me I'm Seven. The quote below is a pretty accurate description of what I'm not like! Wonder why I score as Seven in some Enneagram tests, although I'm everything else than extraverted. Probably because my self-discipline is so low. tongue.gif

QUOTE
Your lucky number is number Seven!

Hello, you enthusiastic thing. Well, Number 7, whether dining at the latest five-star restaurant, browsing a bazaar, or hitting the opening night of the latest hot spot, your lust for life is contagious. Like the lucky number itself, friends and strangers alike count themselves fortunate to have met you because you're a walking carnival. Whether it's a four-alarm dance party or a night out with friends, the fun cup runneth over and getteth all over everyone. Your ache for excitement can take you from the slopes of Switzerland to the coral of Cozumel (though you might pass up a free trip to either of these spots to throw darts at a map and do your own exploring). It's tough to keep up with the Enthusiast. Especially since words like "commitment" and "intimacy" are like garlic to your vampire-style of partying. You're all about diversion. Just be sure your high-test lifestyle isn't producing a smoke screen to cover deeper issues in your life. If you can keep your appetites in check and learn to contemplate life instead of consume it, your journey will be much more fulfilling. Developing discipline may be hardest for Number 7s, but the reward will be some of the best songs, plays, performances, books, and comedy routines ever produced. Want proof, you have to look no further than fellow lucky 7 stars, Madonna, Liz Taylor, and Robin Williams.

Five

Hey there, smarty pants! You Number 5s might wear that nickname well because you're pretty clever—sometimes too clever for your own good. You have an incredible thirst for knowledge, but you don't glean all your information from books. As your Observer moniker suggests, you divine information from watching others—but not always from an up close and personal perspective. That doesn't mean you're not good one-on-one, however. In fact, you'd probably prefer an intimate setting with intelligent conversations over a rockin' party with a crossfire of smack talk. You've got a brain like a sponge and the work ethic to wring it dry. Whether it's finding a cure for cancer, solving a crime, researching the great American novel, building a house, or designing the next killer application, your wisdom is vast, Master 5. Just be careful you don't trip that nerd alarm on your way to the Nobel prize. Other 5s who share your creative bent? Georgia O'Keefe, Isaac Newton, and Stanley Kubrick.

Not so very accurate. I wouldn't say I'm stupid, mind you, but I'm not much of an observer.

Four

As a 4, you're no stranger to melodrama. What's that? Are those violins playing gently in the background? And like all good performers, you are in touch with a variety of your inner characters. You've got all the angst of an early '90s garage band, but fortunately it fuels your creative urges and helps you relate to others. When your friends aren't giving you a standing ovation, they're sharing their feelings because you really listen. 4s have an inner Vasco De Gama of sorts, as they fearlessly explore uncharted emotions within. As a Romantic, you enjoy emotion whether it's watching a sappy John Hughes film for the 20th time since high school or pursuing that mysterious lover who doesn't know you exist. But be careful, road kill just might take you a little longer than your friends to get over. And ending a relationship of any kind might send you straight into a depression you oblige with a healthy dose of Peter Gabriel or Enya. At your best, you can harness your emotions like few others to produce unique expressions of yourself. Your need to "feel" might lead you to commit risky acts that could hurt you—umm fellow 4s J.D. Salinger, the Artist-who-can't-stop-changing-his-name-to-Prince, would you care to chime in? But trusting your self-knowledge gives you an advantage that others lack. All in all, it's not a bad gig being a 4.

At least it got my stronger wing biggrin.gif tongue.gif (5w4 ph34r.gif )

Indeed, this is exactly what I am not.

Six

Gimme five... Psyche! Ah, 6, you're so gullible. Probably because you're such the Loyalist—very trusting. Cheer up, your friendship is rarer than a faithful politician. And if there were more 6s out there, the world would be a better place. Only problem is, once you've been burned, your trust flees the scene like a scared rabbit. As a result, it's possible to come off a little cold and standoffish. Bad first impressions might stick with you. And if people don't pay their share of a dinner tab, it might taint your view of them as potential friends. On the other hand, your BS radar is one of the sharpest around. That's why you may prefer shooting pool with friends instead of jockeying for position at the local singles' night. As a loyal Number 6, you're short on pickup lines and long on eye contact. If you find security within yourself, you might become less affected by the mistakes of others. So if you find a little extra support in life, you'll be well on your way to joining the ranks of other famous 6s: Michelle Pfeiffer, Jay Leno, Tom Hanks, and Julia Roberts.

Um... not quite... unsure.gif

Emode tests tend to suck, haha.

Here are two quotes from The Wisdom of the Enneagram that fit me:

FOUR WITH A THREE WING: THE ARISTOCRAT
___...the desire for self-improvement and an eye toward achieving goals, often involving their personal advancement...want to be both successful and distinctive...They create with an audience in mind.
___...typically put more effort into everything having to do with their self-presentation and related matters... more extravagant [than 4w5s] - loving refinement, culture, and sophistication... grandiosity and narcissism are expressed more openly and directly. [haha! darn, it sees right through me]

FIVE WITH A FOUR WING: THE ICONOCLAST
___...Curiosity and perceptiveness combine in this subtype with the desire to express a unique, personal vision. These people are more emotional, introspective, and creative than Fives with a Six-wing... tinkering with familiar forms...
___...Although primarily identified with their minds... struggle with intense feelings... interests tend toward the surreal... can become impractical in pursuit of their interests...

Well, I'll just be an ICONOCLASTIC ARISTOCRAT then =P

Current personality theories are inadequate, though. Too theoretical; it's time to get some data. And don't tell me it's not possible =) I've been considering becoming a neuroscientist so I can more scientifically figure out why and how different peoples' minds work the ways they do (yes, seriously - it's fascinating, as well as potentially matching my intellectual aptitudes). Cziksentmihalyi, Maslow, and especially Gardner are my idols lately ^_^

Umm... no. I'm a 5, maybe with a 4 wing. (Go musicians!) I would guess most INTPs are too.

Okay, I received 5 also, so I will not re-post the results. I figured my results would be 5 or 8, based on my numerological information. Is that the case?

So Odyssey, are you a point 4? I think that the first sentence helped me to determine that I was 5w4, as opposed to 5w6, when it said the difference between the two are like the difference between art and science. I always looked at INTJs as being more scientific than myself.
