We already had Jung's, so let's give good old Freud a chance as well The idea is that you imagine yourself walking down a corridor; you come accross six doors of certain colours. Either you choose to leave them shut and go on, or you open them and take a look at what lies behind them. You just have to tell whether you opened each door and what was behind the ones you opened... the doors are in order: - Yellow - Blue - Green - Red - White - Black Don't kick my butt, it actually worked for me and the ones I know of taking it...

those doors aren't mine, I just can't go snooping in other peoples business... besides I already found my lighter.

- Yellow - open green fields and valleys under a warm summer sun, fluffy clouds in the sky, birds chirping, a forest whispering in the wind beyond that hill. No one in sight. - Blue - open rocky beach, a great lake stretching out forever, strong waves washing up on the shore, misty air, the sun will set soon. No one in sight. - Green - open an office building on a busy street, lots of people walking by - they don’t seem to notice the strange door that has opened in the middle of the street, cars honking, air smoggy and humid, its about mid afternoon - Red - open a volcanic island, smell the rich exotic air, smoke mingled in, the sky dark, the sun has just set. You can feel the power of the volcano but there is no fear. No one is around. - White - open a baby nursery, with a crib, cute wall paper, lots of toys and baby stuff everywhere, sunlight beams coming through the window, the morning sun. No one is there. - Black - open a vast expanse of space. I stand at the threshold and move through space and time with my mind. Everything is there, the urge to go through this door is the greatest.

holy crap man, different colored doors in a long corridor? I'd open them all, I'm too curious I guess. yellow door - a children's nursery with all the trappings blue door - a direct path outside. thick green grass leading right up to the doorway, blue skies and kites in the air lol. I dunno why kites . . . they just seem to fit. green door - a circular library. four stories tall and loaded to the teeth with books. the cool sliding ladders to reach books above my reach. couches and desks in the center of the room. red door - a game room. pinball, pool tables, foosball, dart board, big screen tv, putting green. fun stuff. white door - a bedroom. clean. fluffy white down comforter on the bed. lots of windows. french doors. a computer, dresser. connecting bathroom. black door - ah, nevermind. everything up til now has been pretty good. and black never has good connotations. so I'll skip it. but you know, the curiosity would probably naw at me. okay, so I open the door and its nothing. its black empty space with no time, no end and no way out. it sucks me in, I'm trapped in nothingness. it figures.
Posted by: flan2dave May 20 2004, 04:28 AM
yellow - close - never liked yellow, unless we are talking about lemon flavored candy. I'd probably get stung by a bumble-bee anyways. blue - open - A dreamy, expansive ocean full of interesting islands to explore and mysterious phenomena taking place. Quite a bit of Wind Waker influence along with my own memories of surfing out in the ocean early in the morning, with surreal clouds and glassy water. green - open - A natural, mountain/forest environment. Relaxing, quiet, private, cozy. I would love to live in a place like this and in a house that resembles Falling Water or Gamble. Japanese influence a must. red - open - I'm reminded of volcanoes, reptile like creatures of hostile disposition, and all manners of hot, humid, yet altogether beautiful interconnecting caverns and ancient architecture and culture. white - open - Wow, more white. Sort of expecting rows of guns to zoom by my sides, but doesn't happen. black - open - I've entered in the world of outer space, a place of magnitude and reality beyond my comprehension. Am I capable of understanding? And if so, where would it lead?

I opened them all. Yellow: the sun Blue: an ocean, lots of white capping waves, it's windy there Green: foliage, tropical. Red: battlefield, Roman, centurions. White: white room, with a white table and a black telephone on top. Black: space, like looking out the window of a spaceship, outside of any solar system. It's very relaxing.
Posted by: pokerwolf May 21 2004, 06:36 PM
Yellow: skip Blue: skip Green: skip Red: skip White: Inside there is only pure light, and I walk right in never to be heard from again. Black: skip

I opened them all. Yellow: A large ripe banana Blue: Old Faithful Green: Various adult film stars Red: A train entering a tunnel White: A missile exiting a silo Black: My mother naked Ahh...Freud

I'm not opening any of these stupid doors. I am walking down the corridor for a purpose I assume, and it's not for the doors.

- Yellow - open a very sunny room, probably a living room, stuffed with old furniture (not used any more), mismatching. Very pleasant. - Blue: a balcony, possibly somewhere near the seaside (not sea in sight, though), sunny (but not too hot), a table and a set of chairs... pleasant. - Green: a study, somewhat dusty and dark (the way I like it), large desk, lots of books on the walls, warm and nice. - Red - skip - White - skip - Black - skip

Oops yes, results... - Yellow door: yourself. If you open it, it means you are comfortable looking inwards and are not afraid of what you are going to find looking back at you. - Blue door: friendship. This is what friendship means to you or how you see it. - Green door: how you perceive life in general and *your* life in particular. - Red door: what you think of sex (no blushings now, come on - White door: what marriage is to you. If you are married, how you feel in your marriage, otherwise your feelings towards the idea of getting married. - Black door: how you face the idea of death. What "death" is to you. For shaytana, for instance (just because she reminded me of the results): First of all, she keeps repeating "no one is there", which indicates strong introversion; -she is in peace with herself, not afraid to look inside and likes what she sees there; -she finds it hard to make real friends (is rather picky) and needs to test them through hard times to consider someone as true firend; probably has very few that she feels really close to. Real friendship is the one that lasts forever. -thinks the world is going too fast, probably feels unnoticed or unappreciated. -probably not in a relationship or in one she is not extremely pleased with, not afraid of intimacy, intrigued by it; gets energised through it and either is very passionate in it or seeking passion. Probably sx variant is first. -marriage seen as a pleasant perspective, probably thinks that its basic purpose is to have kids and sees it as a "fresh start" -not afraid of death, rather intrigued by it. It is interesting how she said "everything is there", when usually people go by "there is nothing there". Probably intrigued by the supernatural, the spiritual and the curious. There is also an interest pattern with the time of day each door hides. If nothing of it stands, don't shoot me... I am not Freud... he was a 5w6 after all, shoot them
Posted by: Amberite May 28 2004, 09:07 AM
This was fun Judging by my green and my red door, my life is all books and no sex Having skipped red, white, and black door, I must conclude I'm completely uninterested in sex and marriage, and I'm going to live forever
Posted by: Vagabond May 28 2004, 03:14 PM
Actually, sort of Your green door would indicate that your basic interest in life is to learn and you feel at your best (warm and nice) when you are at it. Avoiding the red door would say that you are not currently interested in intimacy; avoiding the white door would mean you are indeed currently uninterested in marriage and avoiding the black door that you don't really want to know what lies beyond death and if something is there, maybe sort of scared of death. Your yellow door means you like looking inwards and are in peace with yourself, maybe even that you compartmentalise "periods" of your life in regards to how you were at that time. Also that you think that you have changed through time a lot. Blue door means you enjoy being with friends and probably have more than just a couple of them. Yeah, fun is what this is supposed to be about...
Posted by: Amberite May 28 2004, 03:58 PM
Well, wow, it actually sounds pretty (and surprisingly) accurate
| Posted by: shaytana May 28 2004, 09:42 PM | ||
Oh wow thank you for doing that, that is pretty accurate. Some interesting comments, I haven't thought much about feeling unnoticed or unappreciated but I can see that. I really dont have anybody that would care to notice, but at the sametime I make no attempt at getting any sort of recognition. Friends, I hang out with a group of people, but only one of them I consider a friend. Right now she is the only one, except for maybe my INTJ ex, but another city, we dont talk much anymore. Not in a relationship, and the rest of the red door is right, but we dont talk about that Right on with marriage too. Everything is there. When I wrote the description for the black door what I really pictured was the door that the main character in the Necromancer can open with an equation (mobius? I cant remember) in his mind. Through this doorway he can go anywhere anytime instantaneously. I guess that is how I like to picture death |

You know what, the meaning assigned to the colors correlate really well to what I was thinking about. Green for example, how I view life, I visualized a place where I would like to live. Yellow was the only one I didn't open (looking at oneself), figures!
Posted by: Vagabond May 29 2004, 01:46 AM
Yeah, I noticed... especially this "I would love to live there" killed me Out of curiosity, how did you score in iNtuition?
Posted by: Odyssey May 30 2004, 09:01 PM
Darnit, I skimmed through the posts and almost saw the results - luckily I only saw what the yellow door meant, but that will unconsciously influence what I see. Oh well. [brackets are what I think after reading the results post, though I don't put much credence to this quiz yet] [oh, also I bolded parts in hindsight that seem to be significant] - Yellow - a sun, radiating over a desert, for some reason there's a cricket shimmering the same color as the sun, kindof juxtaposed over the sun [oneself: Hmm. The sun BTW was somehow too scorching and bright, like I was too close to it. Am I too close to myself? lol. And what about the cricket? It doesn't hold any specific symbolism for me, at least consciously o_O] - Blue - I don't open the door; I see through it like it's water. It just seem like I'm looking into dark blue water, nothing there [friendship: hm, I don't actually open the door, but I see through it. I don't have any real, deep friends right now, which is maybe why I don't open the door. I see through it, though, because I know what it's like? and because I can decide fairly easily to have one, if I were to conclude that I have time? hm] - Green - open the door... I see the path I got once in a dream (-- in the dream, an wise man is with a little girl who has a large golden key, and she opens a large wooden door that reveals a path through the woods that seems somehow inspiring). I see that path. [life: ooh, I like this result - Red - I open it, and I see blood running like from a hunt, the desires abound, lust and all that instinctual primal stuff comes to mind. [sex: typical color association; red brings to mind all that primal stuff] - White - a woman without a clear face is walking towards me; it's like a scene in the movies where everything's white. She's wearing a white robe and she's holding out something to me, like she's offering it to me. She's smiling. She stops, and I go on to the next door. [marriage: I'm not married yet, but it looks like a nice idea. My current idea of it is a little too idealistic/wishful though, though.] - Black - I hesitate to open it, but I do and I see only blackness, in the center of which is a skull and crossbones. And also dragonflies hovering around. [death: another typical color association. black = death, so I saw death and emptiness with some insects hovering around. I don't believe there's life after death, so life ends there *shrug*. Oh, but I hesitate. Self-explanatory.] ~Odyssey (now to see the 'results'... interpretations added in above; no original responses edited) What's your response, Lady Vagabond?
Posted by: int May 31 2004, 03:56 AM
I think I need to have my wife stop needlessly calling me when I'm occupied. She will put me in an asylum someday. And I know they're going to force me to answer that damned black phone. I like the yellow --> sun response. I know what's going on, physically, but it's too hot to get near. Explains a lot of what's going on 'round here as of late.

Behind the Green Door. Mmmm, I would definitely have to start with that one.

I did the test to my husband and some answers got me laughing so hard I was almost rolling on the floor. Here's what he answered: Red: There's nothing. White: The door leads outside. Maybe we should just divorce.
Posted by: flan2dave Jun 8 2004, 12:50 AM
Vagabond - I don't...remember, exactly. When I take a test, I pretty much decide my results as I answer the questions, because I know what each of the questions are getting at. So, it will reflect how high I think my intuition is, the results won't surprise me. What do you have on your mind, why do you ask?
Posted by: Vagabond Jun 8 2004, 01:13 AM
flan2dave - I ask because I found it interesting how your answers were related to what each door symbolised, in comparison to others' answers - like int's for instance, whose replies were related to the colour of the door (yellow was sun, blue was ocean etc). Did you know what each question was getting at or did you see it coming?
Posted by: flan2dave Jun 8 2004, 01:47 AM
I didn't know what the doors mean, but I didn't attempt to guess. I might have recalled that green is the archetype of life, for example. I expected Freud's meanings to be unorthodox so I thought any guesses would be wrong. It turned out to be pretty ordinary meanings for the colors, though I never heard about blue symbolizing friendship or yellow meaning yourself. So no, I didn't know or anticipate what the doors symbolize, but I did form answers to what I thought appropriate for the color in terms of details and moods.

I'd books in Red and nothing in Green... And seems like i'm haven't any intention towards marriage either.... Oh blue was strange. Initially i saw something sunny and pleasant, then felt like it was too stereotypical so decided to cloud it in darkness and that didn't work because it just didn't go so settled on a plant... Yellow - couch, people, music Blue - plant Green - nothing Red - books White - skip Black - window |
